June 23, 2016HME News Staff

HUNTINGTON, N.Y. - Emerge Sales and PlayMaker CRM have joined forces to bring sales training and sales software to HME providers. “Our sales training methodology teaches sales reps to shine the spotlight on how their company can better serve referral sources and outlines an easy-to-follow process for generating more orders,” said Mike Sperduti, CEO of Emerge Sales. “Combining that strategy with a powerful sales tool like PlayMaker CRM ensures that reps can effectively manage those...

All pep, no whine

March 30, 2012Liz Beaulieu, Editor

I'll admit that it kind of irked me when one of our readers posted a comment to our website that called HME News "Medicare Whine Central." The reason for that lovely moniker: The plethora of stories we write on competitive bidding. The reader's right, of course. While I'm not going to defend our coverage of competitive bidding , as I feel like I've done that many, many times before, I do think it's worth repeating that HME News is often a mere reflection of the prevalent mood of HME providers at...

A webcast schedule and a side note on the importance of saving

December 2, 2011Liz Beaulieu, Editor

(Let me just start this blog by saying: I had it half written, then went to save, and apparently I had waited too long because WordPress knocked me off. So here I go again.) I've spent the better part of this week putting together a webcast schedule for 2012. I know...2012. My calendar for next year already looks like a mess of deadlines and events written in different colored pens. Yours? We did eight webcasts this year, which is pretty good I think, but they were scheduled only a few months in...

Are hospital discharge planners satisfied with the contract providers in their areas? HME News and Emerge Sales know the answer.

November 16, 2011Liz Beaulieu, Editor

As promised, I have a few teasers for you from our webcast on Friday about competitive bidding. Here's one: 61% of hospital discharge planners report that they're very satisfied or satisfied with the contract providers in their areas. If I'm a contract provider, I can feel pretty good about this, but I still want to have conversations with hospital discharge planners to see where they're dissatisfied. Does it have to do with my products and services? Or does it have to do with a faulty bid program?...

Bid data you can use

November 11, 2011Liz Beaulieu, Editor

I talked today with Mike Sperduti of Emerge Sales, who we've teamed up with for an important webcast about competitive bidding on Nov. 18. From what he's hearing from his researchers, once you get hospital discharge planners talking about competitive bidding, they won't shut up. They're not happy with the program. If you've somehow avoided our weekly promotional emails about this webcast and don't know what it's about: Emerge Sales has interviewed about 100 hospital discharge planners in Round 1...

Considering the circumstances...

September 30, 2011Liz Beaulieu, Editor

Next week, we'll be hosting a webcast on audits. Webcasts about audits seem to be a dime a dozen these days, and it's no wonder with all the activity in this area, but this webcast is different. This webcast, presented by Stephanie Morgan Greene and Lisa Bargmann of The Audit Team/Harrington Management, is more about your operational strategy toward audits. When it comes to audits, many providers are focusing on how to avoid them. That's important, don't get me wrong, but it's...

Tell me: Why are so many employees leaving your company for better opportunities elsewhere?

March 4, 2011Liz Beaulieu, Editor

Picture me asking you this with one hand on my hip and a tapping foot. Let me back-up: We recently sent out a human resources survey to our readers. Two of the questions in the survey: “How many employees resigned from your company in 2010? and “What was the main reason employees resigned from your company in 2010?” 375 of you completed the survey (thank you, by the way). Your answer to the first question: 5.7 (average). Your answer to the second: Better opportunity elsewhere (the...
